- Technopreneur is an annual event conducted by the students of Yi-MEC Net, Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara and is the first of its kind to be held in Kerala on such a large scale by a students’ committee. THe event began with the earnest aim of promoting entrepreneurship among today's technocrats and engineers as a means to build the nation. The very 1st edition of this illustrious event bagged the Yi-net best event at CII members’ summit at Mumbai. In the years that have followed, Technopreneur has broadened its realm to include eminent personalities from various other fields including Industry, Sports and the Mass Media. Simultaneously, its goals have also become more holistic : to develop leadership skills, create informed opinions on the day's most pressing issues, and above all, to infuse a zest to make it big in life. This year, we present Technopreneur 2011 : "Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid : Eradicating Poverty Through Technology" along with Sociopreneur 2011, a business plan competition aimed at driving social change! With colleges from across South India participating, and speakers such as Irfan Alam and Narayanan Krishnan, the future seems bright indeed!
